The station hall, inaugurated in 1906, has long been insufficient to accommodate modern long-distance trains. To alleviate this issue, five new staircases have been constructed, directly connecting the platform level with the street level of the Steintor Bridge. These new staircases create a direct link between the railway and the city, reflecting this connection in both their design and architectural expression.
