The new community center forms an ensemble with the Philipp Nicolai Church. Both inside and out, the building features exposed concrete, creating an interesting contrast to the Ruhr sandstone church. The minimalist material selection is consistently applied throughout the entire structure, resulting in a harmonious and cohesive design.

Gemeindehaus Bladenhorst Zion | Herne (GER)

The new building features a modern, contemporary design and forms an ensemble with the brick church built in 1955 by architect Kuschel. The community center adopts the church’s clear architectural language and responds to its details with a rotated brick masonry structure.
